On May 6, the Washington Post issued the following correction to its May 5 editorial on the arrest of Times Square bombing suspect Faisal Shahzad:
Thursday, May 6, 2010
The May 5 editorial "Questions in New York" incorrectly said that the Obama administration had not publicly addressed intelligence officials' involvement in questioning Times Square bombing suspect Faisal Shahzad. Presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that intelligence officials had been involved in deciding how to interrogate Mr. Shahzad.
Media Matters for America had noted that a May 5 Washington Post editorial falsely claimed that the administration has not said whether the high-value interrogation group (HIG) was involved in questioning Shahzad, when in fact, Gibbs and several news reports stated on May 4 that HIG has been involved.
