Cue right-wing media attacks on AFL-CIO's Trumka

Today AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka jabbed Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck during a discussion with reporters about the 2010 mid-term elections and related issues. As Domenico Montanaro reported on NBC News' FirstRead:

Trumka insisted that voters who are undecided but become educated about what Democrats are trying to do, can be convinced.

“If all you're getting is Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck's version of America,” Trumka said, “if that's where you get your news from, you're obviously going to have a different opinion of America than somebody that actually reads the facts and tries to get knowledgeable about various issues.”

Indeed. Anyone who listens to these far right figures with a critical ear knows they have little interest in the truth or facts. For them, Stephen Colbert's words ring true: "reality has a well-known liberal bias."

Of course, now it is only a matter of time before Trumka graces Beck's chalk board as part of some sinister plot to destroy America. I'm guessing El Rushbo will take to the airwaves tomorrow attacking the union leader.

Don't believe me? Regular readers of Media Matters know that Beck and Limbaugh have a long history of attacking labor unions. You can find more on Beck's anti-union labor fetish here and more on Limbaugh's history here.
