Irony alert: Brent Bozell runs “Tell the Truth” ads on Hannity (!) and Levin (!) programs

Picking up where I left off yesterday regarding what a farce conservative “media criticism” is these days, right-wing press hater Brent Bozell is now overseeing a “Tell the Truth” ad campaign targeting the so-called liberal media. The campaign consists of, among other things, trucks being driven around in circles in midtown Manhattan (don't ask), as well as “Tell the Truth” TV and radio spots that will appear on Fox News' Hannity and Mark Levin's radio show.

Ah, the sweet irony. Only Brent Bozell's crew would think it makes perfect sense to run a “Tell the Truth” ad campaign on programs that are physically incapable of telling the truth. Only conservative media critics would think it's wise to denounce Obama as pushing a “socialist” agenda while at the same time criticizing the press for not being “objective.”

Meanwhile, check out this weird Bozell quote, regarding the ad campaign:

“We've always been a nation where we left the next generation in slightly better hands than they were a generation before – and that's not happening now.”

“We stand to be the generation that will be asked by future generations, 'Why didn't you stop it?'” he said. “I want to be the generation that says, 'We returned America to her greatness. There were those who wanted to destroy this country and there were some of us who said no.' That's what I want.”

A previous generation of Americans famously turned back the tide of fascism in Europe. Bozell sees himself as part of the generation that's fighting back the scourge of liberal media. Or something.

Courage Brent. Courage.
