The government shutdown is now in its 34th day, making it by far the longest in U.S. history. Hundreds of thousands of federal workers remain furloughed, and the human impact only becomes clearer by the day. People are speaking out about their extreme financial stress because of the shutdown, and some “federal employees have reported going to homeless shelters to find food for their families.”
Despite all of the obvious distress that communities across the country are facing, Fox News personalities continue to downplay the impacts of the shutdown, this morning suggesting that it can’t be that big of a deal because only one-third of voters say they’re experiencing hardship because of the shutdown.
