Why isn't CNN polling Republicans on McConnell and Boehner?

CNN is touting a new poll that purports to find that “Democrats across the country are split over whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi should remain party leader in the House of Representatives next year … Forty-five percent of Democrats questioned in the survey say they would prefer Pelosi to serve as House minority leader, with 47 percent saying they would prefer another Democratic member in the House.”

I suspect that if CNN asked Republicans similar questions about John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, they'd get similarly mixed results, particularly in light of friction between the GOP's conservative establishment and its ultra-conservative “Tea Party” faction.

But CNN didn't ask Republicans such a question. Maybe they were afraid it would undermine the beloved “Democrats in disarray” storyline?
