PETE HEGSETH (FOX NEWS HOST): Good morning. Obviously, it is completely unprecedented. It's been amazing to watch -- so the first thing you have got to look at is the effect on the Republican primary. Alvin Bragg just made Donald Trump the Republican nominee. 100%. Watching the sliding scale of people who were skeptical or maybe fatigued by Trump on the Republican side from the Mar-a-Lago raid to yesterday, the amount of contacts I had from people who are largely apolitical or sitting on the sidelines saying if they'll do this to Donald Trump, he's got to be -- he has to be our nominee to prove a point that we won't tolerate living in a system with two tiers of justice. If they'll go after him they will go after everybody.
STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): But ultimately, I think Democrats think, okay, now that he's been indicted, he'll become the nominee for the Republicans, but then Joe Biden or the Democrat will win the general.
HEGSETH: Well, let's see what the level of dissatisfaction is with the state of our republic in a year after another year of governance from this administration. So I've heard the electoral argument, the viability argument. First race, Donald Trump has to win is the primary and Alvin Bragg just did that for him. In the general election, you're gonna have as clear a contrast has ever existed between the state of our country right now and this -- this will be a rallying cry. When he shows up, if it's on Tuesday, which I have heard, that mugshot will become iconic. Like Frank Sinatra mugshot iconic, like printed on t-shirts, put it on dorm room posters, this is a symbol of what someone who fights for our country is put through in a way that will -- it'll be probably the most iconic mugshot we have in our country, and it will be a symbol of resistance against the uniparty, the deep state inside our country which doesn't want someone that's gonna come and disrupt like he did. So they -- I mean, think about it, the Russia, Russia, Russia thing was followed by Ukraine, a Ukrainian phone call. They dug through his tax returns, every single part of his business and it was followed by this is what they indict him for? People see through it.
