Former Russian Spy Buys British Daily

Is this a plot out of a James Bond movie? No, it is today's newspaper world.

A former KGB agent has purchased The Independent of Britian, and for One British Pound, according to a New York Times blog item.

“The Independent, a British newspaper, was sold for £1 ($1.48) on Thursday to Alexander Lebedev, a Russian billionaire who purchased the London Evening Standard last year for the same price," the Times reports. “Mr. Lebedev, the world's 488th-richest man, reportedly developed an interest in the British press when he was stationed in London as a K.G.B. agent in the 1980s and was charged with reading the newspapers every day. After the collapse of the Soviet Union he made a fortune in banking."

What do you think of that, Q?
