On the December 5 edition of his syndicated radio program, conservative radio host Michael Reagan asserted that Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean “should be arrested for treason and either hung or put in a hole until the war's over.” Reagan's remark came in response to Dean's comments during an appearance on San Antonio radio station WOAI earlier that day. Reagan reiterated his point several times throughout the broadcast, suggesting that Dean “should be arrested for treason” a total of three separate occasions.

From the December 5 broadcast of Radio America's The Michael Reagan Show:

REAGAN: Howard Dean should be arrested for treason. He should be arrested for treason. He should be put into a hole somewhere and left there until the war in Iraq is over for what he is doing. Because he doesn't see any good news at all. The good news is -- to him -- is we lose the war. Because then he says and feels that they can take back the House, the Senate and the White House. We have people in this country from the left who probably jump up and down every time an American loses his life. Or her life. Because they're thinking politics instead of what really is going on.

Howard Dean will never be on my show in his lifetime. And Howard Dean should be arrested for treason. And if not hung, put in a hole.

[...]

REAGAN: So let me ask you a question, who do think Saddam [Hussein] and [terrorist Abu Musab al-] Zarqawi would vote for?

CALLER: Uh, if they had their choice right now, probably Howard Dean.

REAGAN: Howard Dean -- Howard Dean, the man who said today on WOAI -- OIA of San Antonio, that, um, we're not going win the war.

CALLER: That's right.

REAGAN: What an uplifting man he is to head up the Democrat [sic] party.

As I said on the show, as I said on the show, Howard Dean should be arrested for treason and either hung or put in a hole until the war's over.
