KCOL's James conflated homosexuality with “child molestation”

In response to a listener's suggestion that those who “speak[] against homosexuality” may become considered “hate-crime criminals” and that the “end purpose” of such purported restraints “is to get rid of the word of God,” Fox News Radio 600 KCOL host and program director Scott James on his July 31 show asked, "[D]o you honestly believe it's that divisive? Or do they just want everybody to be politically correct and be tolerant and get along? 'You must accept me in my homosexual and/or perverted, i.e., child molestation ways. You must accept it.' "

James was responding to comments he said he received via instant message that asserted, “Christianity is under attack and politically incorrect,” and warned, "[I]f speaking against adultery, et cetera, becomes accepted as a hate act," people who do so might be “silenced,” “fined,” or “imprisoned.” Earlier in the broadcast James said he had “issues with hate crimes” before citing the case of Jack McClellan, who, according to James, “likes to look at very young girls but has never sexually touched a child.” James said McClellan is a “pervert within the confines of his own mind” and that to “try and prosecute this guy for thinking a thought ... there's an issue.”

From the July 31 broadcast of Fox News Radio 600 KCOL's Ride Home with The James Gang:

JAMES: And then I get a great instant message at 600KCOL.com from [instant messenger]. She says, “I can see how the hate-crime philosophy” -- and remember, we started the program talking about quote, unquote, hate crimes, about this man at University of -- Pace University in New York who has put a couple of Qurans in the toilet being charged with hate crimes. Put a crucifix in urine all you want and call it art, get federal funding for it. Put the Quran in the toilet -- apparently the guy just forgot to urinate on it and call it art. Instead, they're calling it hate -- they're charging him with hate crimes.

I have issues with hate crimes, on multiple levels. One, that you have to be able to prove in court what an individual was thinking and/or feeling at the time that the crime was committed. And now we're the thought police. We'll get into this story here in a few minutes too, of the individual Jack McClellan, says he likes to look at very young girls but has never sexually touched a child. They have ran him out of one state, endeavoring to run him out of another, and the guy has never broken a law. Pervert? Yes, but pervert within the confines of his own mind. And if we go and try and prosecute this guy for thinking a thought -- there's issue, there, there, there's an issue.

Sorry, [instant messenger] says, “I can see how the hate-crime philosophy is necessary approaching the last days.” Hmm. All right, here we go, religious email. “It is a judgment of the criminal's heart/mind. Right now Christianity is under attack and politically incorrect, but a Christian can't be stopped from preaching or teaching the word, as it is not against the law. But if speaking against homosexuality or adultery, et cetera, becomes accepted as a hate act” -- and they're trying to do that right now -- “accepted as a hate act, then people who openly state from the pulpit, doorstep, street, corner, grocery line, et cetera, will suddenly become hate-crime criminals and can be: one, silenced; two, fined; and/or three, imprisoned. The end purpose is to get rid of the word of God and all who, who -- that go with it.”

Now, now, OK. OK, I, I'm, I'm with you so far, and I can, I can even say and the end purpose to get rid of the word of God. I don't -- come on, [instant messenger], I don't know about that. I don't, is it -- do you honestly believe it's that divisive? Or do they just want everybody to be politically correct and be tolerant and get along? “You must accept me in my homosexual and/or perverted, i.e., child molestation ways. You must accept it.” A Muslim religion -- “of course, we're not going to accept yours, but you must accept ours because it's multi-culti, it's politically correct.” So do you really believe that the, the objective goal is to silence the word of God? I don't know about that.
