New York Times Investor is World's Richest Man

Forbes detailed its list of the richest people in the world, noting that Microsoft Honcho Bill Gates is not in the top post for the first time in 14 years.

The story on Forbes.com declares: “Mexican tycoon Carlo Slim Helu has beaten out ... Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to become the wealthiest person on earth and nab the top spot on the 2010 Forbes list of the World's Billionaires.”

Helu, of course, is now a major invester in The New York Times Company after contributing $250 million to the newspaper company last year.
