STEVE DEACE (HOST): What's the way forward? Right now, we have two announced candidates for speaker. Steve Scalise, who was the next man up in McCarthy's leadership structure, who somehow nearly got murdered by these people and got more moderate after that. Like, you would think after they had tried to murder you, you might have to be held back from being radicalized. He got nearly murdered and got softer. I don't know how that works, but that's the men of this era, I guess. OK? You nearly get murdered and you're not out for vengeance, Rambo. You're trying to figure out your enemies and what caused them to nearly blow you to smithereens.
