Hannity Hosts Discredited Anti-Clinton Shills Dinesh D'Souza And Peter Schweizer Following First Night Of DNC

Fox News host and Donald Trump sycophant Sean Hannity hosted disreputable anti-Clinton hucksters Peter Schweizer and Dinesh D'Souza following the first night of the Democratic National Convention to smear Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party. Schweizer, the author of the error-laden book Clinton Cash, has found a platform on Fox News, and his discredited smears have been cited by Donald Trump on the campaign trail. D'Souza, who rose to right-wing prominence after producing a discredited anti-Obama film, was indicted by federal prosecutors for violating campaign finance laws. SEAN HANNITY (HOST): And welcome back to Hannity. We're in Philadelphia for the first night of the DNC. Joining me now with reaction, author of Clinton Cash, the paperback version is out today. Our friend, Peter Schweizer, the creator of the movie, now a hit over the weekend, Hillary's America. Best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza. And Fox News contributor Monica Crowley.

[...]

DINESH D'SOUZA: Historically the Democratic Party has been the enemy of the working man, the enemy of African Americans, the enemy of immigrants and Latinos. They've passed the most restrictionist anti-immigration laws. So this is the party that's done a lot of harm. It's never apologized for any of it. What they do is they take all the stuff they did and blame the South. They blame America. Americans.

HANNITY: I'm going to get to what they said about Kentucky and West Virginia in just a minute. Let me bring Peter into this discussion here. I don't know if it's irony or just plain funny, but we've been through this whole example of Hillary Clinton lying about Benghazi and getting caught and then James Comey being grilled by Congressman Trey Gowdy. Did Hillary tell the truth here? No. Here? No. Here? No. Okay. So Hillary actually said this weekend the following, when she said I have no idea about emails. And I'm like, does this ever end for this woman?

PETER SCHWEIZER: Yeah no, you're right, Sean, it's very interesting how this is all playing out because it he has revealed the underbelly, the seeming underbelly of the Democratic Party. But it also shows us something very instructive about Hillary Clinton herself. Think about this. Who else in modern American politics would take somebody like Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who was indicted by this entire incident and say you know what? She's going to quit but we're going to give her a promotion and bring her to the campaign. The Clintons are masterful at doubling down. If you are loyal to them, if do dirty work for them as she did at the DNC against Bernie Sanders, we're going to take care of you, protect you and even promote you.
