Echoing a similar suggestion in a recent Saturday Night Live skit, Ann Coulter stated that the United States should “throw out the illegals who are here,” but not before “hir[ing] illegal immigrants” to “build a wall” along the Mexican border. When Bill O'Reilly suggested Coulter was “being sarcastic” about hiring illegal immigrants to build the wall, Coulter responded: “No. It's cheap labor.”

Discussing America's illegal immigration problem on the April 13 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter stated that the United States should “throw out the illegals who are here,” but not before “hir[ing] illegal immigrants” to “build a wall” along the Mexican border. When host Bill O'Reilly suggested Coulter was “being sarcastic” about hiring illegal immigrants to build the wall, Coulter responded: “No. It's cheap labor.”
Coulter's remarks recall portions of a skit from the April 8 broadcast of NBC's Saturday Night Live. During the skit, Jason Sudeikis -- playing the part of Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO), a prominent critic of current immigration laws -- said that he had “found a labor force” willing to build a border wall “at about a fifth of the cost.” He added: “We're very excited about it. They don't need health insurance, and you just pick them up in the parking lot of the Home Depot.”
From the April 13 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:
O'REILLY: In the “Personal Story” segment tonight, conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter has some strong views on illegal immigration, and here she is. It's a big mess, that's for sure. Where do you stand on it as far as what would you like to see done?
COULTER: I'd build a wall. In fact, I'd hire illegal immigrants to build the wall. And throw out the illegals who are here.
O'REILLY: You would throw them out.
COULTER: I can't even --
O'REILLY: You would throw them out.
COULTER: Yeah.
O'REILLY: So --
COULTER: Yes.
O'REILLY: The wall, I got -- I mean, you're being sarcastic with the illegal aliens. But the wall is --
COULTER: No. It's cheap labor.
From the April 8 broadcast of NBC's Saturday Night Live, which also featured Seth Meyers, playing the part of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper (a video clip of the segment is available here):
COOPER (Meyers): Congressman Tancredo, do you actually think it's realistic to shut down our borders with Mexico?
TANCREDO (Sudeikis): It's very simple. We're just going to build a 700-mile-long wall across the entire length of the Mexican border.
COOPER (Meyers): Seven hundred miles. That's a very long wall. It sounds like that might be very expensive to build.
TANCREDO (Sudeikis): Well, you would think so, Anderson, but it's not. Now, I can't go into specifics, but suffice it to say, we found a labor force willing to get the whole job done, at about a fifth of the cost. We're very excited about it. They don't need health insurance, and you just pick them up in the parking lot of the Home Depot.
