Fox Nation’s newest host, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, pushed an antisemitic trope on social media about Alex Soros, the son of Jewish billionaire philanthropist George Soros, in response to a Soros post noting that he had hosted vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz at his residence.
Fox News has a long history of tolerating antisemitism on its airwaves.
On September 24, Soros wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that he was “honored to host” Walz at “my home in New York City.” The post contained multiple photos of Walz and Soros together.
Ramaswamy reposted the post, writing, “If you squint, you can see the strings on the marionette.”
The “puppet master” imagery is a classic antisemitic trope, and right-wing media and Fox hosts have used it for years to smear George Soros.
Ramaswamy, a biotech investment tycoon, has been a Fox darling since at least 2022, when the network promoted him and his presidential campaign heavily on its airwaves. On September 22, Fox’s online streaming service Fox Nation launched a “a new multi-part roundtable series” hosted by Ramaswamy that is supposedly “offering ideas conservatives must embrace to challenge the leftist vision synonymous with the Biden-Harris administration.” A condensed version of the series will be aired on the Fox News channel as well.
