BEN SHAPIRO (HOST): Speaking of political correctness in sports, bizarre story out of Florida. Apparently, University of Florida has now withdrawn the scholarship of a committed 2023 quarterback named Marcus Stokes after a controversial video of Stokes stating a racial slur surfaced on social media on Friday.

In the video, Stokes can be seen in a car saying, “Welcome back, n-word,” but it’s the one that ends with an “a.” Now the reason that this is incredibly stupid is, No. 1, my understanding is that he was not using that as an insult toward a Black person. My understanding is that he was actually repeating a line of a rap song.

In other words, if you repeat the words of a rap song word-for-word, then it is your fault if they include this word. Your words matter more as a random person singing the song than the person who put out the song in the first place.

How about this. How about we go after the rappers who make the rap songs that contain garbage as opposed to the person who raps along to the song. By the way, when you rap along to a song, that’s not even equivalent to saying that you agree with the song. People sing lyrics they don’t agree with literally all the time. I have a two-and-a–half year old daughter. She likes the song “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne. She doesn’t know what the hell she’s saying.
