Advertisers are fleeing Rush Limbaugh's show following his misogynistic attacks last week on Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke.
Geico, whose ads have aired during Limbaugh's show in recent days, stated on March 2 that the company is “not a sponsor of Rush's program.”
A March 6 Bloomberg article further reported:
Geico has banned advertising on Limbaugh's programs since 2004, according to a customer-service e-mail.
“On occasion, a local station may mistakenly run a GEICO ad in the wrong time slot,” the e-mail said. “We are directing our ad buyers to make sure that does not happen.”
