During the October 11 edition of Turning Point USA founder’s The Charlie Kirk Show, Charlie Kirk hosted writer Steven Sailer – described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white supremacist and a proponent of scientific racism – to attack Black and trans people and promote his new book.
This is not the first time Kirk has hosted a white nationalist-aligned guest onto his show. And it’s not a surprise either, as The Charlie Kirk Show is produced by Blake Neff, a former writer for Tucker Carlson Tonight who was fired after CNN exposed his racist and offensive postings in an anonymous online forum.
According to the SPLC, Sailer founded the Human Biodiversity Institute, which has been described as “a neo-eugenics online discussion forum where right-wing journalists and race scientists have promoted selective breeding of the human species.”
Sailer is also a columnist for VDare, an anti-immigrant and white nationalist-aligned blog that was founded by anti-immigrant, white nationalist activist Peter Brimelow. In one of Sailer’s VDare posts, he described former President Barack Obama as a “wigger” and, amid criticisms of his physical features, asserted that he was a “faux African-American.” Sailer has also appeared on the white nationalist radio show Political Cesspool in the past.
Kirk opened his show by praising Sailer and describing him as “incredibly interesting, and one of the most talented noticers in the country.”
(Kirk repeatedly used the terms “noticing” and “noticing things” throughout his interview with Sailer. The term has been used by antisemitic trolls online in the past to attack and push conspiracy theories about Jewish people.)
During his appearance, Sailer defended racial stereotypes and baselessly claimed that the Black Lives Matter movement has led to more Black people getting killed.
“If you see a stereotype in regular life, yeah, it probably shows up in the social science data in the federal government and academics,” Sailer said. “If there’s some sort of pattern going on nationwide that is showing up in the FBI crime statistics or the Center for Disease Control’s statistics for deaths, then you’ll probably notice it on your own street.”
