As the Republican Party draws scrutiny for its embrace of antisemites, GOP leaders have done nothing about Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ). Since 2021, Gosar has endorsed and promoted antisemitic media outlets and figures more than 30 times.
Gosar, who is reportedly considered “untouchable inside the House Republican conference,” has not received any discipline from House Republican leadership. To the contrary, Republicans are set to restore the committee assignments that were taken from him by House Democrats and Republicans Liz Cheney (WY) and Adam Kinzinger (IL) after he promoted an animated video of him murdering Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and attacking President Joe Biden.
Three of Gosar’s favorite antisemitic media sources are Nick Fuentes, Andrew Torba’s platform Gab, and Vincent James Foxx’s outlet Daily Veracity.
Fuentes is a Holocaust denier who frequently makes antisemitic remarks, including claiming that Jewish people have too much power and they should “get the fuck out of America.” He and Ye, who was formerly known as Kanye West, recently had dinner with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump reportedly “‘seemed very taken’ with Fuentes.”
Gab is a haven for white nationalist, neo-Nazi, and antisemitic users, including people who have threatened and committed violent acts. Gab’s CEO is virulent antisemite Andrew Torba, who uses his site to repost attacks on Jewish people. Torba has said that he wants to exclude Jewish people from American political life, stating: “We don't want people who are Jewish. … This is an explicitly Christian movement because this is an explicitly Christian country.”
Daily Veracity is a fringe white nationalist site that portrays Black people as violent criminals and warns readers that they “are being replaced” because “minorities are pouring into the country and having children.” It is run by Vincent James Foxx, a Holocaust denier who has frequently attacked Jewish people. Foxx has complained that “the Holocaust is weaponized” against white people; attacked Jewish people because they supposedly “not only control Hollywood, congress, and the media, but they control social media as well”; and claimed that the impeachment of Trump was “The Jew Coup.”
Gosar’s promotion of antisemitism is similar to that of fellow Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), who is also set to get committee assignments back next year.
Here are 33 examples of Gosar promoting antisemitic media figures and outlets. Many examples from this list are via The Informant’s Nick R. Martin, who has extensively covered Gosar’s promotion of extremists.
On February 26, 2021, Gosar was the keynote speaker at Fuentes’ America First Political Action Conference. (Gosar and Fuentes met at a restaurant the next day.)
