CNN's Corey Lewandowski: “Nobody Cares” About Trump Bragging About Sexual Assault

Lewandowski: “You Want To Relitigate, And He's Apologized, So Let's Move On Past It. Let's Talk About [What] The American People Care About.”

From CNN's October 9 post-debate coverage:

GLORIA BORGER: Is bragging about sexual assault that you didn't commit a good thing? Is that the standard? I don't think that's -- I don't think that's the standard. And that I think that, you know, Anderson [Cooper] asked him directly. So what are you saying is -- having later spent the entire evening called Hillary Clinton a liar -- what he said was he was lying. And that he hadn't done those things, but in fact he bragged about them. This is a 59-year-old guy. This isn't somebody who is a frat guy, excuse me here, I know we're on a college campus, but -- but --

JAKE TAPPER (HOST): The crowd, the crowd is turning on you.

BORGER: I know, I'm sorry.

TAPPER: I'll set her straight, I'll set her straight.

BORGER: OK. But this is a 59-year-old man.

COREY LEWANDOWSKI: Nobody cares. You know what, if you look at the focus groups --

BORGER: I care.

LEWANDOWSKI: You know what they care about? Hillary Clinton's emails where she lied and committed basically perjury. And look, you know what --

BORGER: I'm not going to disagree with you on that.

LEWANDOWSKI: Why are we still -- he's apologized. You guys have given a pass to Hillary Clinton because she's apologized for having a private server. You want to relitigate, and he's apologized, so let's move on past it. Let's talk about [what] the American people care about.
