Fox's Ed Henry falsely claims Trump “made it clear” that he'd report foreign interference in the 2020 election to the FBI

Trump told ABC News that “there isn't anything wrong with listening” to a foreign government offering dirt on a candidate, and he would “maybe” go to the FBI, “if I thought there was something wrong”

ED HENRY (FOX NEWS CHIEF NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT): I think [Trump] is trying to clarify what he said in that ABC interview and he made it clear, by the way, in the ABC interview, most people passed over it, that he would contact the FBI if there was something nefarious. I think, as Trey Gowdy pointed out last night on Martha's show, if the president or anyone, any candidate, was approached with information that was already in the public domain -- dirt on someone but it was just something that was out there already -- like some of the allegations about Joe Biden and Ukraine and all of that, you don't necessarily have to call the FBI. It's just it's something that's in the public domain but the president, I think, made clear to you, “yes, I would call the FBI.” Trey Gowdy also pointed out though: Who in the FBI are you going to call? If the president had, hypothetically, called the FBI in 2016, he would be calling James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, some of the people that he lashed out [against].
