Hayes: A modern day civil war is “bandied about on TV and radio by right-wing personalities who make their money selling paranoia”

CHRIS HAYES (HOST): Today, Donald Trump finally reacted to the arrest of Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson, the white supremacist who had amassed an arsenal and was apparently, allegedly, plotting a domestic terror attack targeting top Democrats and prominent journalists who have criticized the president.

...

Authorities say that one of Hasson's Google searches as he plotted his attack was, quote, “civil war if Trump impeached.” That is not the deranged lone fantasy of some weirdo.

Trump himself has warned ominously that the people would revolt if he were impeached, but the idea of a second civil war to defend Trump is an ever-present topic among the right-wing media, reflected regularly in headlines on conservative news sites.

And it's bandied about on TV and radio by right-wing personalities who make their money selling paranoia.
