Brian Kilmeade says tech companies are “anti-American” and are trying to put their “hand[s] on the scale until the midterm elections”

Kilmeade: “Anti-American behavior is resonating in their political philosophy”

PETE HEGSETH (GUEST CO-HOST): The theme he's hitting on with political censorship on social media -- Facebook, Twitter, Google -- really is resonating with conservatives right now. There is an abiding sense that these big media behemoths are slanted against us. It's almost like a Teddy Roosevelt trust buster moment of the 21st century. He's saying these platforms are not fair. They're hurting us. We need an alternative. And that theme's going to become even more essential. It's like a Second Amendment theme. It will be huge, I think, going forward and he's smart to key in on it.

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): But he's not grasping at straws, he's grasping at reality --

HEGSETH: Yes.

KILMEADE: -- and pointing it out. I think a lot of these media companies feel responsible that President Trump was more effective using social media and propelled them to the unfathomable victory. So, instead of saying, “OK, Democrats, get your act together,” they said, “We're going to slant, we're going to put our hand on the scale” --

HEGSETH: Yes. Yeah.

KILMEADE: -- “until the midterm elections come, and I'll take the heat.” But I don't think, my personal opinion now, I don't think they were prepared for a president to call out these behemoth[s], these huge organizations that have so much to do with the economy. But why is it that they bend for China when they decide to put all these filters in? Why do they sit there and get sanctioned by Europe, but when the Pentagon asks a place like Google to work with us on a cloud for our Defense Department, they don't want to get their hands dirty in something that could result in the death and destruction of a country or a terror group, so they give up the Pentagon contract to work for other nations. And that anti-American behavior is resonating in their political philosophy.
