On the March 18 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends, co-host Brian Kilmeade discussed the release by Sen. Barack Obama's campaign of a list of campaign contributions raised by indicted fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko -- which the campaign says will be donated to charity -- and asserted that the list was of “people that donated to his campaign for Senate and for the presidency.” Co-host Steve Doocy replied, “Well, actually, I think it's just during the presidential campaign.” In fact, as Politico staff writer Kenneth P. Vogel noted in a March 15 article, “the only presidential campaign contribution on the list” came from “financier and Hollywood producer Thomas Rosenberg.”

Indeed, Rosenberg's two $2,300 contributions were the only ones made after Obama established his presidential exploratory committee on January 16, 2007. In his article, Vogel provided a “list of all the Rezko-linked contributions Obama is contributing to charity, including previously released contributions.” According to Vogel, the list consists of “the total contributions that Obama's campaign said in a statement 'could be reasonably credited to Mr. Rezko's political support.' ” The list provided by Vogel includes both a “list of 43 contributions totaling $73,900” that the campaign released March 15 and $85,185 in contributions that it had released on March 14 -- a total of $159,085.

DOOCY: Barack Obama's got a couple of people in his past who have caused him trouble. Of course, there's --

KILMEADE: Just one slumlord.

DOOCY: No, Rev. Jeremiah Wright --

KILMEADE: Oh yeah, that's true.

DOOCY: -- has caused him great trouble and that is why he is going to have a major speech just about two hours from now. You'll see it on Fox. But then there is that “slumlord” that -- as Hillary Clinton referred to Tony Rezko, during one of the debates. He did raise a lot of money for Barack Obama through the years.

CAMEROTA: Which Barack Obama has given back. He has just released a list -- well, first, let me tell you the charges against Rezko, because we have about 15 counts of wire and mail fraud. There are counts of aiding and abetting solicitation of bribery. There's money laundering; there's attempted extortion. I believe it all falls under the umbrella, also, of influence peddling.

DOOCY: Corruption!

CAMEROTA: He's now on trial --

KILMEADE: Right.

CAMEROTA: -- in Chicago. So, recently, Barack Obama released the name of the donors, because Rezko's one of those bundlers, and he gave, recently, $73,000, almost $74,000, to the campaign. Obama's given that back now.

KILMEADE: I just wonder if I was one of the people giving it to Tony Rezko, and I feel as though it was stolen from me, or taken illegally from me, and then Barack Obama gets it and then has to distribute it to charity, how happy I'd be. But he has no choice. He's gonna give out 73,900. That's what he found as he released the list of how these people that donated to his campaign for Senate and for the presidency, how they're linked to Tony Rezko.

DOOCY: Well, I think -- actually, I think it's just during the presidential campaign --

KILMEADE: Just during the president?

DOOCY: -- because, apparently, Rezko had helped him raise a lot of money for state senate, which has never been refunded, and has not been donated to any charity. And also when he ran for Senate, Rezko was there. What's interesting is, as the prosecution out in Chicago has presented their case, and they say that, in at least one case, Mr. Rezko pressured somebody to do something and in return, that donor, that person he pressured, kicked money into Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

CAMEROTA: But pressured him to do what? Just give money or something even more?

DOOCY: Senate campaign.

KILMEADE: Right.

DOOCY: But usually -- look if --

CAMEROTA: You said -- well, it's all told --

DOOCY: According to prosecutors, you know, “I'm going to do this for you, and then you, in turn, are going to donate money to Barack Obama.”

CAMEROTA: Oh, I see. Quid pro quo. So --

KILMEADE: But let's just look at what he --

CAMEROTA: -- it's $159,000, I should say right now.

KILMEADE: And then you --

CAMEROTA: That's the total that they've had to give back from the campaigns.
