AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): Patriotism might soon hit the streets of Washington in full force. Plans for a military parade are now in the works.
STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): The latest call to honor our heroes coming from the president himself.
BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): Kevin Corke joins us right now from the White House. Kevin, I guess you will be covering the parade if it happens.
KEVIN CORKE (WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT): Yeah, let me tell you, guys, this is going to be a blast. Let me ask you a question. Do you ever see something that was really cool, I mean, something you said, “I'd love to do something like that or see something like that again?” Well, apparently, that is what happened to the president after he saw the Bastille Day celebration in Paris back in July. He saw that and, after that, he called it one of the greatest military parade he had ever seen and now he'd like to see the U.S. hold a similar parade on Pennsylvania Avenue right here in Washington. By the way, Fox News has confirmed he has, in fact, asked the Pentagon to work up a plan.
Now, let me show you what Sarah Huckabee Sanders has to say about it. She said, “Look, the president is incredibly supportive of America's great service members who risk their lives every day to keep our country safe. He's asked the Department of Defense to explore a celebration, at which all Americans,” that's me you and everybody, “can show their appreciation.”
Now, asked about that idea of a Trump parade, Gen. Joe Dunford said, “Yep, I'm aware of the president's request, and we are in the initial stages of planning.” I've got to tell you, that looks like it would be an absolute blast and, ideally, it would happen on the 4th of July weekend. I'd love to see it. I'm sure we would have the show right down here. Can I just put in a call for that? Fox & Friends live on the [National] Mall if it happens.
