BILL HEMMER (CO-HOST): Saudi Arabia says it intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the [Houthi] rebel group toward their capital city. Fox News strategic analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters with me now. You have no doubt that this was Iran because the Houthi rebels in Yemen don't have the capability. Is that the case that you would make, sir?
RALPH PETERS: Well, the Houthi rebels in Yemen are relatively primitive. They certainly couldn't build these missiles. And we know they are Iranian components. But they also couldn't service them, they couldn't aim them. This is -- these are Iranian missiles beyond any doubt being aimed at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, by probably Revolutionary Guards but certainly by Iranians. And the Iranians are trying to use the Houthis as a cut out: “Oh, it wasn't us, it was the Houthis.” It's a sham.
This is essentially a war that's already underway, and as [UN Ambassador] Nikki Haley has observed, sooner or later, one of the missiles will probably get through, and then what do we do? Because we are allied by treaty with Saudi Arabia. I hate to see any American blood shed for Saudi Arabia, but we've got to honor treaties. And Iran is pushing, and pushing, and pushing.
HEMMER: Let me put a fine point on this. You believe that Iran is growing over-confident in that region. If this administration is making the case against Iran day after day publicly, what are we prepared to do in the end?
PETERS: Well, we don't want to fight, but it may come to that.
