CAVUTO: I can't tell you the number of people who have been asking questions about Carly Fiorina, first from that first undercard debate, as it was called, on Fox, then the main card debate where she wowed a lot of folks, and this comfort level she has not only with data and numbers but countries and leaders. A lot of people forget here that she's just not some new phenomenon. I've covered this woman for decades now, going back to her days running a company called Hewlett-Packard.

All right, she was very busy trying to see George Bush re-elected, and that did happen, he was re-elected. She never became commerce secretary. She did run for Senate. The only reason why we pursue that -- and not to let you look back at a brief period of time where sweater vests were a fashion statement -- was to sort of remind you she's been around awhile and she's very well versed in things like figures and countries and markets and revenues and stuff like that. And it's that ability to explain these issues, whether you like her or not, whether you agree with her stewardship of this Fortune 500 company or not, that is getting the attention she is today.
