Fox's Eric Bolling has been taking heat for claiming last week that the Muppets are trying to "brainwash our kids" against capitalism. Rather than backing down from his ridiculous attack, Bolling went after the Muppets again yesterday, saying, “How much more demonizing can you be to capitalism? It's terrible.”
Today, on Fox News' The Five, Bolling addressed the situation, saying: “OK. So apparently I said some things that offended little Kermit and Miss Piggy the last few days. And I -- listen, I apologize.” He added: “I just wanted to say, listen, froggy -- what's his name? Kermit, Miss Piggy, if you want to debate this any time, I'm all for it. So let's bring it.” Watch:
BOB BECKEL (co-host): Eric's got something to say here.
BOLLING: OK. So apparently I said some things that offended little Kermit and Miss Piggy the last few days. And I -- listen, I apologize. I didn't mean to say anything that offended you guys. I called them anti-capitalist because of the movie and the rich oil guys portrayed as bad.
BECKEL: Boo.
BOLLING: I just wanted to say, listen, froggy -- what's his name?
[Off camera]: Kermit.
BOLLING: Kermit, Miss Piggy, if you want to debate this any time, I'm all for it. So let's bring it. Let's have maybe, I don't know, Donald Trump moderate a debate. What do you say, Kermit?
