From CBS News [emphasis added]:
On another pressing international issue - the U.S. response to the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis in Japan - President Obama receives a much higher approval rating.
More than seven in 10 Americans (73 percent) say they approve of the President's handling of the U.S. response to the triple disaster, and just 14 percent expressed disapproval.
You'll recall that Fox News, and much of the right-wing media, broadcast a drastically different opinion about Obama's response to the Japanese disasters.
The often hysterical reaction has been that Obama was obsessing over his NCAA brackets in the face of pending international doom. That Obama was “keeping his eye on the wrong ball,” and was "just plain egomaniacal." (Why? He recently played golf.) And Rush Limbaugh even slipped in some birtherism while mocking Obama's supposedly feeble response to the Far East crisis.
In other words, it was Obama Derangement Syndrome run amok. Turns out though, Americans overwhelmingly rejected that kind of relentless Obama bashing
