HARRIS FAULKNER (HOST): Real quickly before I let you go, I have been asking people this question about the White House doing its own opposition research now, so it can start to get out in front of things. Joe, do you think that's a good idea?
JOE TRIPPI: Look, I think, I think the best advice for the White House right now is to let this investigation go wherever it is going.
FAULKNER: OK. The drip, drip, drip. Chris, do you think that they should try to circumvent that? Real quickly.
PLANTE: No. No. They should tear it up. They should appoint a special prosecutor to go after Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, their Russia ties.
FAUKNER: Wow.
PLANTE: Honestly, there should be a second special prosecutor going down a completely separate avenue here. And I hope that they leak every day after they -- and Joe said earlier that the Trump administration can't continue to say that this is a "nothingburger.” Joe goes back to the Howard Dean days. If it's not a nothingburger, Joe, where's the beef?
