In October 2017, Fox News launched The Ingraham Angle, promoting Laura Ingraham from contributor to host and consequently elevating a conspiracy theory-mongering, climate change-denying, transphobic, xenophobic, anti-choice white supremacist to a coveted prime-time slot. Now, after years of spreading dangerous misinformation and lies at 10 p.m., Ingraham has been pushed up to the 7 p.m. timeslot.
On Fox, Ingraham has played a pivotal role in pushing the conservative agenda and is known especially for her deadly COVID-19 misinformation and vile anti-immigrant sentiment that often includes white supremacist talking points such as the “great replacement” conspiracy theory. During Trump’s presidency, Ingraham even enjoyed undue influence over White House policy, advising the former president either through her show or in face-to-face meetings with Trump himself.
Ingraham’s allegiance to conservatism and her contempt for the truth were made clear when she knowingly pushed false conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and Capitol insurrection, as seen in personal texts revealed in the Dominion lawsuit filings and House January 6 investigation, respectively. Ingraham is undeniably aware of her influence and the consequences of her lies, yet she continues to use her platform to push right-wing propaganda.
Here is a list of Ingraham’s most dangerous lies and conservative talking points:
