President Donald Trump's March 4 interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity -- ahead of Trump's March 5 Fox News live town hall -- was just the latest for the president in Fox's friendly territory. Since Trump's inauguration, Fox News-affiliated networks have hosted 75 of Trump’s 105 nationally televised interviews -- 71% -- which follows his trend of favoring Fox over all other national TV news outlets.

Fox News and Fox Business lead all cable and broadcast channels in Trump interviews, with 64 on Fox News and nine on Fox Business. (Trump’s two other Fox-affiliated interviews were on Fox News Sunday in 2018 and Fox Sports last month.) The next most frequent stop for Trump on cable was with Joe Kernan of CNBC’s Squawk Box, with just four interviews. Trump has not conducted a single sit-down interview on CNN or MSNBC. (MSNBC’s sole interview was a chance hallway encounter between the president and the network’s Craig Melvin, while CNN has not interviewed Trump at all.)

Even in the comfort of Fox News, Trump gravitates toward its most sycophantic hosts. Sixty-seven percent of Trump’s interviews on the network were on Hannity (15 times), Fox & Friends (14), The Ingraham Angle (5), Justice (5), and Tucker Carlson Tonight (4).

Trump’s last interview on a major broadcast news network was on NBC’s Meet the Press, which aired June 23, 2019. That interview received a lot of criticism, mostly for host Chuck Todd failing to challenge the president’s mischaracterizations of his administration’s family separation policy.
