SEAN HANNITY (HOST): We have a mysterious new bird flu is now spreading, some saying it could lead to a pandemic far worse than COVID.

DR. MARTY MAKARY (CONTRIBUTOR): The chances of it turning into a pandemic are low with this particular strain and the form that it’s in. Now, I don’t think it’s helpful to tell the world, “We’re worried. We’re concerned, we’re worried.”

I think what's helpful is to actually support the researchers that have developed a universal flu vaccine that would encompass H5N1, this particular virus. But they are not getting the support they need. That's what people need. When you hear these citations of a 50 and 65% mortality rate --

HANNITY: Doctor, I think people watching and hearing about a potential vaccine, you probably just pissed off half my audience at least. The idea that we'd go through that hell over and over again. But if that's what you believe --

MAKARY: It's a traditional vaccine. It's not an mRNA vaccine in development, FYI.
