Fox News has claimed that it “does not condone any talent participating in campaign events.” But that didn’t stop host Jeanine Pirro from making a “surprise” appearance this month at a Republican fundraiser, where she signed copies of her book to benefit a local GOP organization. 

At least 11 Fox hosts have scheduled and then canceled Republican-aligned speaking engagements this year, with Pirro being the most prolific canceler. In recent weeks, however, she has apparently tried to find a loophole in the network policy. 

The Justice with Judge Jeanine host made “a surprise appearance” at a November 3 fundraiser for the Volusia County Republican Party in Florida, as The Dayton Beach News-Journal wrote. She was not the keynote speaker; instead, Fox News contributor Dan Bongino headlined the event. (Bongino received a speaking fee for his appearance, according to Federal Election Commission records.)  

Pirro still participated in helping raise money for Republicans. She appeared at a table and signed copies of her book Radicals, Resistance, and Revenge to support the organization’s pledge drive for a new headquarters. After the event, the party wrote on Facebook that people who missed her at the event could still get a signed copy of her book for a donation to the group of $100 or more.

Pirro keynoted the Volusia County Republican Party’s 2017 dinner, receiving a $20,000 speaking fee and a $442.35 payment for “books.”

Pirro also appeared at a November 12 fundraiser for the Seminole County Republican Party. That appearance was also kept somewhat under wraps. 

In late October, the Orlando Sentinel quoted a Seminole GOP official stating that “Pirro will be a part of our Team Trump 45 Mega FUNdraiser event.” The publication added that “the first 250 will receive an autographed copy of Pirro’s latest book.” After publication, the group then told the Sentinel that she “has been invited to appear but has not yet confirmed.” Pirro did end up at the event, according to a photo posted online by Longwood Mayor Matt Morgan.
