Republican congressman calls Fox News’ Jesse Watters a “tool, making millions to push conspiracies on tv"

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) launched a barrage of attacks on Jesse Watters after the Fox host accused him of “corruption” and insider trading, calling Watters a “fucking hack,” “fucking clown, desperate for clickbait,” and a “tool, making millions to push conspiracies on tv.”

Watters' show is indeed a cesspool of conspiracy theories.

During a brief segment of the January 2 broadcast of Jesse Watters Primetime, Watters displayed a graph showing that a number of lawmakers outperformed the S&P 500 in 2023. Watters singled out a few members of Congress including Crenshaw, who he said outperformed the market by 13 points.

“This is what corruption looks like,” declared Watters, “and that is why Congress still hasn’t passed a ban on insider stock trade.”

Hours later, Crenshaw took to Instagram to air his grievances against the Fox host. He addressed Watters on his Instagram story: “Hey you fucking hack, if you’re gonna accuse me of literal corruption, get your facts straight and man up and come accuse me to my face. You’re a fucking clown, desperate for clickbait.”

Crenshaw hurled too many insults at Watters to list them all, but some highlights include “wealthy elitist” who is a “mediocre entertainer,” a “loser” who “grew up with a silver spoon,” and “the type of dude who pees sitting down.” He also further rebutted Watters' claims about his portfolio.

The next day, Crenshaw returned to Instagram to claim that Fox canceled an upcoming interview on January 3 in retaliation for his profanity-filled tirade. “Guess I hurt their feelings by calling out their bullshit,” the congressman wrote.

According to The Daily Beast, a source from Fox News denied that Crenshaw had a scheduled appearance on the network for January 3. Supposedly, Fox Business canceled an interview with Crenshaw for reasons unrelated to his social media outburst.

This feud likely marks the end of a seemingly cordial relationship between the congressman and the Fox host. Crenshaw appeared on Jesse Watters Primetime for a friendly interview in March 2023, in which the two discussed the Mexican government’s response to fentanyl trafficking in the U.S. Crenshaw also invited Watters on his podcast in 2021 to promote the Fox host’s book.
