Laura Ingraham: If Marco Rubio “Had Listened To Me, He Wouldn't Be In The Mess He's In Right Now”

LAURA INGRAHAM (HOST): [Sen. Marco] Rubio's first major outside endorser in his Senate primary was Phyllis Schlafly -- yours truly was another one -- and she said, you know, he just betrayed us. Rubio chose to become the chief salesman and public face of Chuck Schumer's Gang of Eight bill. I think that was the last time Rubio came on the show, came on The Laura Ingraham Show, was during the push for immigration reform, in which I begged him, pleaded with him not to do it. And he hasn't been on since. And I say if you want to be the nominee of the Republican Party, you have to answer the concerns and questions of my listeners. Not about me, I don't -- honestly don't care about me. Most days I prefer not to have any guests on the show. We have so much to cover and there's very little time to cover it and guests can really slow a show down frankly. But in this case, I'd love to have Rubio on, because number one I think we could help him be better and less needy of his donors. I think we actually could help him. And not to toot my own horn, but if he had listened to me, he wouldn't be in the mess he's in right now. So, avoiding this show has not worked out well for Marco Rubio. You might have some billionaires supporting you, but you don't have enough of that grassroots credibility that will, I think, easily propel you into South Carolina, and into Florida and beyond.
