During a discussion with U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard (R-CO) following President Bush's January 23 State of the Union address, Newsradio 850 KOA host “Gunny” Bob Newman asserted that U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry (D-MA) appeared “disgusted” that 12 million Iraqis voted in that country's 2005 elections. Allard agreed with Newman's baseless statement, saying, "[O]bviously John Kerry has his own agenda, and he has his own ... view of what it takes to surrender to the terrorists." Allard further stated, “I'm not surprised that he did that.”
Later in the broadcast, Newman said that “Kerry hates the idea of brown-skinned Muslim Arabs having a democratic nation.” He added, “John Kerry is a Boston, Back Bay, patrician, blue blood. Yeah, he knows people with brown skin and black skin. They're his servants.”
From the January 23 broadcast of Newsradio 850 KOA's The Gunny Bob Show:
NEWMAN: The president said the -- that he was heartened, and it was really great when 12 million Iraqis voted -- risked their lives to vote in democratic elections and that -- about that time the camera had panned over to John Kerry, who had an absolutely disgusted look on his face.
ALLARD: Yeah.
NEWMAN: Which really -- I mean, I know what kind of a guy he is, and -- but I was still -- even though I know what kind of a man he is, I was still very disappointed to see that. How can somebody be disgusted with 12 million Iraqis voting in a democratic election?
ALLARD: Well, you know, I -- obviously John Kerry has his own agenda, and he has his own -- own view of what it takes to surrender to the terrorists. I don't think that we should surrender. I think we should stand up to the terrorists. And so I can -- I'm not surprised that he did that. I was watching the president, listening to the president, and I thought the president did a good job in explaining to the American people where he was and where we need to go. And I think we need to give his plan a try. And those individuals like John Kerry who don't even want to give his plan a try, I think they're -- they're missing the mark. And I think they're putting the future of this country at risk, because what we can't do, is we can't hand a victory to the terrorists, which will allow them to declare victory, and then they recruit more members, and raise more money, and in the future they become more of a threat to the United States.

CALLER: Well, what made me sick was the -- the look on -- on Hillary's face during a lot of the address. John Kerry, too. The --
NEWMAN: Well, I hate any look on Hillary's face. But, you know --
CALLER: -- but the camera -- the camera flashes on these people, and -- they've got just these disgusted looks on their faces, and it looks bad. The whole world is watching this thing. And -- and that's what makes me mad, is that these people don't care, you know, about America and our standing in the world.
NEWMAN: Yeah, but there's a good point to that, though, and that is, [Caller], that when they -- when the camera shows them, you know, they forget that, you know, the camera could be zooming in on them. Or maybe they just don't care. Because when you saw the look on Kerry's face and how disgusted he was to hear the president remind him that 12 million Iraqis risked their life to vote in a democratic election, and Kerry hates the idea of brown-skinned Muslim Arabs having a Democratic nation. He hates that idea, and the look was on his face tonight. 303-713-8585. I'm “Gunny” Bob on 850 KOA. John Kerry is a Boston, Back Bay, patrician, blue blood. Yeah, he knows people with brown skin and black skin. They're his servants.
