On the October 19 broadcast of 630 KHOW-AM's The Peter Boyles Show, guest Brenda Walker called Mexico “one of the most despicable countries on Earth” and stated that "[i]f there's one thing that the Mexicans are good at, it's establishing smuggling infrastructures. They can get through, you know, obviously, millions of illegal aliens and WMDs as well." During the interview, Walker referred to one of her articles posted on VDARE, a website that, as Colorado Media Matters has noted, publishes the work of some authors whom VDARE editor Peter Brimelow has said he “would regard as 'white nationalist.' ” In 2004 Walker wrote a series of articles for VDARE -- starting with one titled “Save The Sierra Club From The Treason Lobby-Act Now!” in which she criticized the Sierra Club environmentalist group and supported an attempt by advocates of reduced immigration to obtain seats on the group's board of directors.
Host Peter Boyles and Walker had been discussing a flier -- a photograph of which KHOW published on its website -- that purportedly appeared at an April immigration rally in Dallas, Texas. The flier displays an outline of Mexico and Texas with a line representing the border between the two and the message, “Vote Democrat in 2006.” Asked what she thought the image meant, Walker replied, “They [the Democrats] want to join with Mexico, one of the most despicable countries on Earth.” Later, while discussing the potential for terrorist infiltration into the United States from across the Mexican border, Walker suggested that Al Qaeda could obtain assistance from Mexican drug smugglers, declaring, “If there's one thing that the Mexicans are good at, it's establishing smuggling infrastructures. They can get through, you know, obviously, millions of illegal aliens and WMDs as well.”
From the October 19 broadcast of 630 KHOW-AM's The Peter Boyles Show:
BOYLES: Brenda Walker is with it -- with us. She is in California. The website is immigrationshumancost.org. Miss Walker, did you get a chance to look at that flier?
WALKER: Yes.
BOYLES: All right. I just asked you to do it. You looked. We haven't spoken off air. I want to know what you think.
WALKER: Well, I think it's very disappointing that the Democratic Party has sunk so low. I mean, this is the party of Franklin Roosevelt, for Pete's sakes.
BOYLES: Party of Harry Truman.
WALKER: They want to join with Mexico, one of the most despicable countries on Earth. One of the most corrupt countries on Earth. It's horrible.
BOYLES: What do you think the meaning -- and by the way, on the other side of it, it's in Spanish. What is the meaning of showing Texas and Mexico blended together? And by the way, I've been describing the flier. Would you describe the flier, what you see?
WALKER: Well, what it shows is the country of Mexico and the state of Texas joined as one.
BOYLES: What do you think that means?
WALKER: Well, it -- I believe it means that Democrats think that some sort of merger with Mexico is a good idea. This is the idea of the North American Union, I suppose. I suppose that's what they're hinting at.
BOYLES: All right, now tell me, explain to me your thoughts -- and I didn't ask you this off air -- but George Bush?
WALKER: Well, he's not much of a conservative, is he?
BOYLES: He's not much of anything anymore, is he? Or maybe -- maybe I don't understand him. Maybe -- I want your take on him.
WALKER: I once wrote an article about the president called “The MexiChurian Candidate?” -- which you can find on VDARE.com -- in which I, at that time -- this was about two or three years ago -- in which I analyzed his relation to Mexico. And there was no case I could find of him taking the side of American -- the well-being of Americans -- against that of Mexicans. He always chose the Mexican side.
[...]
WALKER: But I don't know how we can have open borders --
BOYLES: Exactly.
WALKER: -- and, it's just nuts. I mean, I kind of go “blah” when I think about it --
BOYLES: So?
WALKER: -- that he thinks that we can protect ourselves from these people who are sworn to destroy our society and institute a caliphate. Well, having open borders -- and the open borders are also populated by these Mexican drug lords who have created a fabulous smuggling infrastructure.
BOYLES: It's enormous.
WALKER: If there's one thing that the Mexicans are good at, it's establishing smuggling infrastructures. They can get through, you know, obviously, millions of illegal aliens and WMDs as well. There's no reason to think otherwise. I mean, if you were an Al Qaeda guy looking at the United States and thinking about how to get in, you would immediately call up a cartel fellow and say, “Hey, what can we work out here?”
