At the urging of a Massachusetts congressman, BP has put a live video feed of the gushing oil spil in the gulf online, via a congressional Web site.

Associated Press reports: “Congressman Ed Markey of Massachusetts pushed BP PLC to make the video available to the public. It's now posted on the Web site of the Select Committee on Energy Independent and Global Warming.”

This is a step up from barring news crews from the oil-soaked beaches as they did earlier this week. But it still seems more P.R. than productive.
