On the April 11 broadcast of his Newsradio 850 KOA show, host “Gunny” Bob Newman claimed that the 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade granted “a woman's right to kill her child whenever she wished, so long as it wasn't born yet.” Newman then said that while he found the idea of abortion “obscene,” it “would be OK” to abort “horrible people” such as prominent Democrats, former dictators, an anti-war activist, and a terrorist leader, among others. His list comprised TV personality Rosie O'Donnell, Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, U.S. Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-MA), Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan.

NEWMAN: I believe that the fetus becomes a baby when a human can look at the fetus and tell, “You know what? That's a, that's a little tiny human right there.” Then, that again, that's just my view. And I could easily be proven wrong sometime in the future by somebody much smarter than me, which isn't saying much. But regardless of when this happens, I believe the Supreme Court erred in 1973 when Roe v. Wade turned into a woman's right to kill her child whenever she wished, so long as it wasn't born yet. The law should be that abortions are only legal in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother would be endangered if the pregnancy were to be allowed to continue. The idea of abortions of obvious babies simply because the mother doesn't feel like being pregnant at the moment because it would interfere with her career, or it would interfere with her dating schedule, or it would interfere with her vacation plans, would interfere with her lifestyle, or what have you -- to me is obscene. I want a Supreme Court that will overturn Roe v. Wade and replace it with a more reasonable amendment. 303-713-8585.

However, if we ever develop the technology that via studying the details of, say, one's DNA. If we ever develop this technology, and that studying of the DNA could show what type of person will come from a certain fetus -- like Rosie O'Donnell, Hitler, Murtha, Stalin, Ted Kennedy, bin Laden, Pelosi, et cetera -- then aborting such horrible people like Cindy Shee -- ah, you know, I mean, for the, for the sake of humanity -- would be OK. But that said, we must keep in mind that even horrible people like Cindy Sheehan can have great kids, as evidenced by her son Casey. Then again, if such people were aborted, I would have to look harder for show material.
