You don't see this everyday: a California man delivered his obituary, along with a suicide note, to a local paper, then went to hang himself at a nearby bridge.
Editors at the paper, The Mountain Democrat of Placerville, said they did not read the obituary until after he had died.
“The man wrote he'd been struggling with emphysema and had trouble breathing,” reports the Associated Press. He wrote, “Yes, I have hanged myself (At least I hope I did).”
“The suicide note included a $90 money order, the cost of publishing an obituary.”
