This afternoon on Fox News' America Live, conservative activist Michael Reagan bemoaned the lack of civility in politics, and explained to us that he's been around Republicans his whole life, and he's never, ever heard one of them use foul language. Rather, explained Reagan, it's those potty-mouthed Democrats who are ruining civility in America:

I hate to upset Reagan's naïveté regarding the lily-white moral characters and vocabularies of his GOP brethren, but...

"Shit"!

US President George W Bush has been caught on microphone using an expletive as he discussed Hezbollah's rocket attacks on Israel.

Mr Bush was heard telling UK Prime Minister Tony Blair privately that Syria should press the Lebanese militants to “stop doing this shit”.

"Fuck"!

On the Senate floor for a photo session in 2004, Dick Cheney had a run-in with Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.). After the two argued over Cheney's ties to Halliburton and President Bush's judicial nominees, the then-vice president told the senator “f--k yourself.”

Cheney, who has never regretted the incident, appeared on Thursday's “Dennis Miller Show” and took a compliment about it from the host.

“I love that move,” Miller said while thanking Cheney for going after Leahy. “One of my favorite stories -- muttering that.”

Cheney responded that a lot of people liked the comment. “That's sort of the best thing I ever did.”

"Asshole"!

Then Bush spotted New York Times reporter Adam Clymer, who has been with the paper since 1977, serving as national political correspondent during the 1980 presidential race, as polling editor from 1983 to 1990 and as political editor during the successful presidential campaign of Bush's father in 1988.

“There's Adam Clymer -- major league asshole -- from the New York Times,” Bush said.

“Yeah, big time,” returned Cheney.
