The latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine hits newsstands today with its list of the 500 “Greatest songs of all time.”

Not a surprise that “Like A Rolling Stone” is number one. Could the magazine be paying homage to itself?

Likely not. The Bob Dylan classic is in the running for first place, as are about 20 other songs. Magazines usually run these lists more to gain attention than to provide any definitive listing.

Also on the list are 23 Beatles songs and 14 from the Rolling Stones.
