From the March 13, 2020, edition of Fox Business' Lou Dobbs Tonight:
LOU DOBBS (HOST): On Wall Street today, stocks skyrocketing! The Dow Jones Industrials climbing 1,985 points, and doing so as the president began his news conference this afternoon on the public-private partnerships of that -- he has assembled to take on the coronavirus.
The S&P up 230, the NASDAQ up 673, all three indexes the largest one-day point increase ever. Volume on the big board above 8 billion shares. Once again -- and by the way, another $2 trillion returned to the markets. The president celebrating his signature day today.
The White House sent along to me a signed chart of the skyrocketing DOW, the S&P 500 and NASDAQ, that -- the DOW, by the way, rose more than 1,000 points from the time he started talking to the time the news conference, his news conference was over with his decisive announcement to declare the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency. Well received by markets all around the world, I'm sure.
Dobbs had no such signed chart on the next day the markets were open, when the Dow fell by 2,999 points on Monday, March 16. Instead, Dobbs barely covered the market collapse and just repeated Trump’s insistence that the markets “will bounce back.”
