Barack Obama and John McCain will “take questions from their traveling press corps Tuesday afternoon.” Contrary to Halperin's suggestion that the candidates have both made themselves unavailable to reporters, Obama held a press conference on September 19 regarding the economy, during which he fielded several questions from reporters. By contrast, more than a month has passed since McCain's last press conference on August 13, as reported by several media outlets.
