Daily Wire host says “Trump is wrong” to attack Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)

MATT WALSH (HOST): OK, this is wrong. Trump is wrong on this. Thomas Massie is one of our best congressmen by far and away. He's one of the most, if not the most, conservative members of Congress. He's extremely principled and, and consistent. He doesn't want to vote for the CR because it increases spending and he's against that. And so he's voting against it. You know? And you can agree or disagree with him, but to call for him to be ousted from Congress and primaried is just wrong. It is — it really is wrong. And that is, again, regardless of how you feel about the continuing resolution and the budget and, you know, if you think that it's OK that they're gonna increase defense spending or not — regardless of that, that's — it — so you — it's — if Trump had just put out a a tweet or a Truth what do they call it — a Truth — if he put out a post on on his platform and said, hey, we're trying to get this, the CR passed. Thomas Massie is not for it. I really disagree with him. You know? Why don't you reach out to him and try to convince him? Whatever. I know that's not Trump's style to approach things that way, but if he had said that, I wouldn't be talking about this. I don't know. I don't think it'd be a big deal. OK. He disagrees with Thomas Massie. That's fine. You can criticize criticize him harshly if you want to. That's fine too. It's always OK to criticize politicians. But this is going way beyond that. You're trying to get him ousted from Congress. You're throwing down the gauntlet that you personally will try to get them removed from Congress through a primary.
And, listen, I know that guys like Massie can be frustrating if you want him to go with the program because he's not a go with the program type, but you need guys like that in Congress. I don't care. Even if you find them annoying sometimes, you need them. Massey is very much in the Ron Paul kind of tradition. He's not gonna vote for increased spending. He's not gonna go along with stuff just to go along with it. Right? When all the Republicans are saying, hey. Come on, Tom. Look. We're all doing it. Jump in. The water's fine. Thomas Massie is gonna be one of the few guys who's like, yep. I don't agree with it. I'm not doing it. Sorry. So you could call him a bit of a party pooper at times, but you need guys like that. You need guys like that. Those guys are not the problem. The Republican Party has plenty of problems. Thomas Massie is not one of them.
