From the October 23 edition of MSNBC's Morning Joe:

WILLIE GEIST (HOST): Do you still have questions about what happened that night?

RICHARD HAAS: Not that many, actually. If you want to talk about in detail about the security side, yes, the cables came in from the embassy and so forth, saying we want, you know, extra security, but these did not look to me like hair on fire, we really need extra help kind of cables. I've been in the department for years when ambassadors send in special requests. There was nothing about this that was personal, there was nothing about this that was out of the ordinary. It was dealt with by people in two bureaus, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security and the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. It does not rise to the level of the Secretary of State.

KATTY KAY: Is it unusual for an ambassador not to have the personal email address of the secretary of state?

MULTIPLE: No.
