CHRIS HAYES (HOST): Trump will tell anyone that will listen about the "enemy from within" and Fox is there for it all. But that clip you just heard and the Bret Baier and Maria Bartiromo interviews really tell us is that Fox is just an adjunct to the Trump campaign, as we have known for years.
I mean, we saw it in stark relief from the January 6 Committee revealed that several Fox hosts were texting then-Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on January 6, begging him to get Trump to stop the Capitol riot, because it looked bad politically to be clear. Not to mention hosts like Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, and Jeanine Pirro who all reportedly acted as unofficial White House advisors during Trump's presidency.

Fox News is Trump TV. It serves as an arm of the Trump campaign, as the MAGA movement, covering for him, editing things out of context for him and even writing jokes for his appearance at the Al Smith Dinner last night.

In fact, while he was in the Fox studios this morning, in the News Corp. building, he told the curvy couch friends about his next meeting upstairs.

DONALD TRUMP: I'm going to see Rupert Murdoch. I don't know if he's thrilled that I say it. And I'm going to tell him something very simple because I can't talk to anybody else: Don't put on negative commercials for 21 days. Don't put them - and don't put on their -- their horrible people that come and lie. I'm going to say real -- "Please do it this way." And then we're going to have a victory.
[CLIP ENDS]
Do you see the way their physicality is during having him on the couch? Just a presidential candidate demanding his favorite network stop airing negative ads against him and stop booking his opponent's surrogates. But Trump can say that and no one flinches because Fox News is a political campaign arm for the Trump campaign.
