Rep. Scott Perry refused to testify before the January 6 committee. Instead, he appeared on One America News during the hearing to call it a “circus.”

Perry sought a pardon from then-President Donald Trump over his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election

During the first public hearing of the House January 6 select committee, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) revealed that Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) refused to testify regarding his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election results. She also revealed that Perry sought a pardon from then-President Donald Trump over his efforts to keep the president in power.

During the live hearing, Perry instead appeared on the right-wing misinformation network One American News to bash the committee’s work.

Perry described the committee hearing as  “a three-ring circus” and “reality TV” that is only meant “to distract from what is actually happening to the country and what people are most concerned about.”

Perry then placed blame for the insurrection on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), saying Republicans need to get to the bottom of “what the speaker’s culpability is or was” for the events of January 6.
