MSNBC's Chris Hayes details how Project 2025 would undermine climate action

Hayes: “As Project 2025 puts it, ‘The Biden administration's climate fanaticism will need a whole-of-government unwinding’”

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes dug into Project 2025’s climate proposals on the July 9 edition of his show All In, explaining how they would undermine climate action.

Project 2025, developed by the Heritage Foundation, is a comprehensive and controversial blueprint for the next Republican administration that aims to drastically reshape federal policies and institutions.

Hayes contrasted Project 2025’s climate proposals with the Biden administration's green energy progress, emphasizing that Republicans not only lack a plan to combat climate change but, as outlined in Project 2025, also intend to actively sabotage existing efforts by “unwinding” climate initiatives and repealing pro-renewable energy infrastructure bills.

CHRIS HAYES (HOST) : The proposed Republican Party platform says nothing about promoting green energy, just they want to “drill, baby, drill.” In Project 2025, the big blueprint for actually governing, the priority is to “oppose eyesore windmills built at taxpayer expense,” “support repeal of massive spending bills like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs and Inflation Reduction Act” that they acknowledge are “providing hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies to renewable energy developers.” But it gets worse. Not only do they want to actively destroy this incredible, growing industry employing millions of Americans, that could pull off the biggest transition since the Industrial Revolution, not only do they have no plan to mitigate the effects of climate change we see all around us, they want to actively make it worse by undoing all climate regulations. Or as Project 2025 puts it, “The Biden administration's climate fanaticism will need a whole-of-government unwinding.”
