ProPublica.com, that non-profit investigative news site, today launched its first blog, with a focus on investigative news and “accountability journalism.”
In an introductory post, Blogger Marian Wang describes her job as “riff off what's happening in the news, by explaining things that are complex, to match blips of news to deeper context, and to make great investigative reporting-you know, that 10,000-word piece you bookmarked that you may never get around to reading-accessible to people who want to make sense of it all.”
Wang previously worked for Mother Jones, “where she spearheaded the magazine's social media strategy. Since graduating with honors from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 2007, she worked in Chicago as a freelance investigative reporter and blogger for The Chicago Reporter, Chi-Town Daily News, and ChicagoNow,” the site stated.
